Drinking water is something we all do, more like we all have to do. The question is how much water should you drink because this routine need can be used to tackle one of the biggest problems many people face today i.e. obesity. Optimizing the time at which you drink water and how much of it you drink can be a gamechanger.

Though drinking enough water is very important, there is no clear answer to how much water is enough. And it is different when you are trying to lose weight to when you are not.

Worry not. There are some very simple and easy-to-understand tools and factors that can help you find what amount suits you the best.

So, keep the following points in mind.

Your weight determines how much water you should drink

Everybody carries a different mass which changes everything. This variation in size makes everyone uniques in their dietary requirements.

It is clear that if you carry more weight then you will lose more water and will need to drink more water to replenish the water you lost.

There are many calculators available on the internet that make it very easy for you to get a rough estimate of things. Here is one.

Keep in mind these are not absolute calculations. You might have more weight but your bodily demands may be different. Look for signs in your body and try to figure out what it is trying to say. Listen to your body and act accordingly.

Things like sweating also affect how much water you should drink

Your body has to maintain a set level of water for everything to work properly. The level drops when you excrete water from your body.

The rate at which this excretion is different for everyone. Some people sweat more than others so they need to drink more water. Some urinate more often so they also need to drink more water.

What you have to do is to observe your bodily behaviors regarding water loss and formulate a plan accordingly.

Eating food full of water also counts as drinking water

Yes, it is true in most cases. But it does not mean that every watery drink or food is good for your weight loss including canned carbonated drinks, sugary slushies, or even soft ice cream.

Most of the good watery goodness resides in fruits and vegetables. Some fruits have a shockingly high amount of water. Like watermelon has 92% water in it. This means eat 1kg of watermelon and you just ingested 900ml water, roughly.

All in all, there is a set amount of water you have to drink daily to survive. What you need to do is to get an estimate of this amount by using the above tips. After you have done that add 1 or 2 liters to it and that is the amount of water you should drink to lose weight.

Remember just drinking a ton of water won’t make you slim. You need to put in the work. Put in the hours. You have to stay hungry and have your fat be devoured.

Take care peps.
